Join fellow Rosie members for our first member-led event with Yoga Therapist and Rosie member Jayme Sweere. Jayme will lead members through an information and experiental session on the scope and orientation of yoga therapy as a healing modality.
Choose the session most applicable for your needs to learn a sequence of postures, breathing techniques, and meditative practices aimed to address acute or chronic disease states. Each session will include an overview of the scope of yoga therapy as a practice, scientifically based explanation of and instruction on a simple yet targeted daily home practice sequence, a handout for continued reference, Q&A session, and a herbal tea happy hour.
3:00 pm - Yoga Therapy for Back Pain
4:30 pm - Yoga Therapy for Depression, Anxiety, and Stress
6:00 pm - Yoga Therapy for Restful Sleep
The foundation of Yoga Therapy is that a disease state (mental, physical, or emotional) is a symptom of imbalance and therefore seeks to treat the person by creating balance within the system using diet and activity first and medicine as the last (but sometimes necessary) option. These sessions are great for beginners and experienced yoga practitioners alike. Open to all Rosie members and friends and family. Wear loose fitting comfortable clothes and we have plenty of mats to use if you don't have your own.
