Ozark Greenways, Inc.
Ozark Greenways, Inc. is seeking enthusiastic applicants for their Board of Directors. Formed in 1991, Ozark Greenways is a 501c3 non-profit group of private citizens in greater Springfield, Missouri, working to preserve the Ozarks' natural heritage for public use and enjoyment through the development of a comprehensive public greenway trail network. The greenway trails are fun, free and conveniently located. When each trail section is built in Greene County, it becomes part of the Springfield-Greene County Park Board's wonderful city park system.
We also help to promote Public Works' growing on-street bike route system as part of our mutual goal to create an even more bicycle-pedestrian-friendly community. Our collaborative efforts are paying off, as Springfield has been designated a bronze level Bicycle-Friendly Community by the League of American Bicylists!
Terms: Each Board term is three (3) years, up to two (2) consecutive terms.
Requirements: To maintain the strength and direction of this organization, our board members must commit their time, talents, and resources. Board Members are expected to participate financially through an OG Membership and/or the Annual Fall Dinner & Party, attend monthly Board Meetings, attend our Annual Meeting, and participate in one of our events or volunteer work day per year. Additionally, if time and interest allow-Board Members are encouraged to serve on a special committee.
Meeting times: The fourth Wednesday of each month at noon.
